Here’s what I want to do:
Have a sample on each key and control the decay on all of them with a single envelope so I dont have to adjust the amp envelope on 20 keygroups individualy.
To me this seems extremely straightforward, just add an ADSR modulating the gain on the layer level. However, It seems an envelope on the layer level can’t be triggered by the keyboard input?
Modulating keygroups on Program Level is absolutely viable.
I think you made some mistake on another level.

I thought so too but when checking it recently I was surprised that an ADSR on Layer level works polyphonically:
